Links

Links give each organization short first-party addresses such as /l/launch. They are useful for newsletters, paid media, partners, and any campaign where you need to connect a visit to enrollment and revenue without depending on an external link shortener.

Create a link

Open Links in the dashboard and choose New link. Give it a clear internal name and point it to either:

  • a published offered course in your organization; or
  • an external HTTPS page.

The short address is permanent. You can change the destination, optional UTM parameters, and affiliate assignment later without replacing links already shared.

Choose Unarchive in the list or link dashboard to reactivate the same address and keep its history.

Offers and sharing previews

Choose Course or offer when creating or editing a link. Selecting a specific offer keeps its price and access terms in the destination. A/B variants can point to two different offers of the same course. An archived offer stops the link instead of silently switching to another offer.

In Sharing, customize the title, description and image shown when sharing the short link. Empty fields use the public course details; otherwise, the link name and site image are used. The preview is the same for both A/B variants. Preview crawlers do not count as visits or receive experiment cookies. Messaging apps may cache previous previews; localhost links cannot be fetched by WhatsApp.

A/B testing

Open a link and select A/B test. Variant A uses the current destination; choose another published course with an active offer or an HTTPS URL for B. Set A’s share (1–99%); B receives the remainder.

Destinations and traffic weights are fixed after starting. A/B assignment uses the technical visitor identifier even before consent, without setting a cookie. With analytics or marketing consent, a first-party 30-day cookie keeps the variant stable across network changes. Conversion attribution still requires marketing consent.

The tab compares visits, unique visitors, checkouts, purchases, learners and net revenue by currency for the selected period. Overall link totals include A, B and traffic outside the experiment. Later conversions retain their original variant. External destinations need an attributed return to Cursare for conversions to be recorded.

Choose Choose A and finish or Choose B and finish to send all new visits to the chosen destination. History is preserved. Each link supports one experiment; create another link for a new test. No statistical winner is declared automatically.

Attribution

When marketing consent is available, opening a link stores a first-party attribution cookie for 30 days. Attribution is last click wins: a newer valid link replaces the older one for the same organization.

Checkout requests, purchases, enrollment requests, and learner access keep the tracked-link ID that led to them. Archiving a link stops new redirects but does not erase attribution already attached to business records.

Consent and privacy

Short links count clicks on the server, including the first visit before a privacy choice. Known bots and prefetches are excluded. A keyed hash of the IP address and browser user agent, scoped to each organization, estimates unique visitors and deduplicates clicks on the same link within each clock hour. Raw IP addresses are not stored in these events. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not anonymous, and are not linked to accounts by click counting. Network or browser changes can affect the estimates.

On an initial visit to a Cursare course, a signed context in the URL fragment preserves the link and variant for up to 30 minutes. Accepting marketing on that page creates the attribution cookie without counting another click. Rejecting optional storage creates no attribution cookie.

Reports

Open a link's results to compare the last 7, 30 or 90 days. The report shows visits, unique visitors, checkout starts, purchases, learners, and revenue. Revenue is kept separate by currency and split into gross, refunded, and net amounts.

Visit totals can be lower when people decline analytics. Verified conversions remain visible when the business record contains the tracked-link attribution.

Affiliates and UTM parameters

Assigning an active affiliate makes the short link carry that affiliate's credit. The affiliate sees assigned campaign links in their portal, while their legacy course links with ?ref= remain available.

UTM source, medium, campaign, content, and term are optional. Cursare adds them to the final destination while keeping the public short link clean.

Archive safely

Archiving returns a gone response for future visits. Historical reports, purchases, learners, and affiliate attribution stay intact, and the old slug cannot be reused accidentally.

Delete a link

In Settings → Danger zone, choose Delete link and type the short address to confirm. Deletion is permanent and also removes A/B variants. Purchases and enrollments remain, but their link attribution is cleared. To stop redirects while keeping reports, use Archive.
